Article 16. Eligibility criteria for final examination
Each semester, the university will hold one official final examination and a secondary examination. In order to sit the final examination, students must have:
- Minimum of 80% attendance for each enrolled subject. Part-time students can apply for special consideration if your work or other official commitments may affect your studies, with maximum of 30% attendance absence for each enrolled subject. Application for class absence should explain the expected circumstances, including a verified statement of employers.
- Completed all midterm exams and pass 50% of the midterms.
- Completed all assignments and essays of the module (if any).
Article 17. Eligibility criteria for thesis defence, exit examination
- Ethics requirements: During the last year of the course, students are not subject to fines or penalties (such as suspension or more serious level) or criminal prosecution.
- Academic scores: Students should have passed (score more than 5 points for each subject) and cummulative credits for all the required subjects of the modules in order to conduct their thesis defense or sit exit examination.
Article 18. Handling absence from examinations
- Students absent from an examination without an eligible written application for non-attendance is considered to have taken the exam (first attempt) and would receive a zero mark for that module.
- Students violate clause 2 and 3 of article 16 and could not sit the first round of examinations must retake the exam, or complete assignments, essays to be eligible for the second attempt. For students absent from the first round of examination with an eligible application for non-attendance, scores from the second attempt will be considered as scores for the first attempt. Part-time students that have not passed the second take of examination can retake it for the third time in the following semesters.
Article 19. Final examination format
- Available in written test (multiple choice questions or essay questions); oral test.
- Format of the final exams will be proposed by the Department, submitted the School Dean to report to the University Council (via Unit of Student Affairs and Services) and officially announced to all students at the beginning of the semester.
- The secondary examinations will be in written format only.
Any changes to the final exam format must be submitted by the Department and School to the Unit of Student Affairs and Services for an immediate public announcement.
