In 2016:
- Conference: Development orientation of scientific research activities for teachers and students in the period 2015-2017
At the conference, researchers and students have discussed about the achievements, limitations, opportunities and challenges in research work of teachers and students of the School of Hospitality and Tourism in recent years. Participants also discussed research directions in the period 2015 – 2017. Solutions and timeframe for implementation were also proposed, focusing on enhancing research capacity, broaden specialised knowledge for teachers and building research capacity for Tourism students.
- Conference: Development orientation of festival tourism during Hue Festival
The conference provided a platform for students to exchange information and get to know more about festival tourism, including different types of festivals, past festivals in Thua Thien Hue, events of Hue Festival and other festival related activities.
- Conference: Educational travel “Study and play” – direction to develop soft skills for students of the School of Hospitality and Tourism, Hue University
Participants at the conference have discussed and identified demand for the tourism model called “Study and play”, thus using it as a leverage to develop Teambuilding tours at several travel agencies in Hue city. Participants also suggested effective Teambuilding programs for consideration, especially for intergrating skill training into teaching curriculum for specialised majors, such as cheerleading skills, leadership skills, communication skills, team work skills.
- Workshop: Becoming a presenter in accordance with Vietnam Tourism Occupational Standards for Travel students of the School of Hospitality and Tourism, Hue University
The workshop has helped students to broaden their knowledge of Travel and Tour Guide major. Through introducing the Vietnam Tourism Occupational Standards applied for tour presenters to teachers and students in the field, the workshop seeks to encourage potential students to participate in the “Presenters” Competition for talented students organised by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
– Workshop: Improving SPSS skills to apply in academic research for students of the Tourism Faculty in 2016
The workshop provided participants with basic concepts of statistics and introduced the most commonly-used techniques for data analyzing. This could be highly applicable in scientific research as well as students’ graduation theses.
