Tuoi Tre News and Hue Relics Preservation Centre held a ceremony in the imperial city of Hue on May 12 2017 to send holy earth from Hue to Truong Sa archipelago.
The ceremony was attended by:
- Nguyen Phuoc Hai Trung – Deputy Director of the Hue Relics Preservation Centre.
- Tran Gia Cong – Member of the Executive Board of Hue Youth Union.
- Huynh Thi Kim Em – Chief Representative of Tuoi Tre News in Central Vietnam
- More than 80 students from different clubs and groups of Youth Union of School of Hospitality and Tourism.
The ceremony began with the opening remarks by Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Em, followed by Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hai Trung’s speech in which he shared the story of Vietnam established and enforced the island sovereignty under the Nguyen Dynasty with the Hoang Sa heroic troop taking charge of Truong Sa. The most solemn part of the event is the ceremony of handing over and receiving the holy earth of the ancient city of Hue to Truong Sa Island. This is a very meaningful activity to affirm the national sovereignty over seas and islands. It also lifts the spirit of soldiers and officers in the island who dedicate themselves to protecting our country every day.
The event has inspired the patriotism of the youth and re-affirmed Vietnam’s sovereignty of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelago.
