Ship of Southeast Asian Youth Program – SSEAYP is an annual youth exchange program organized by the governments of Japan and other ASEAN countries for the purpose of promoting friendship and mutual understanding among the youths of the eleven Southeast Asian countries Japan. In 2017, SSEAYP brings together 322 delegates sent by the government of Japan and 10 ASEAN countries to a 52-day voyage on the 5-star NIPPON MARU cruiseship, departing from Japan and visiting Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. This year program will be held from October 24 to December 12. All the delegates’ expenses including meals, accommodation, transportation will be covered by the sponsors.
This is an unique opportunity for Vietnamese youth (aged from 18 to 30) to expand their friendships, enrich their cultural experience and broaden their perspective on the world.
To spread the words about SSEAYP, the School of Hospitality and Tourism has hosted a workshop at 5 pm March 29th 2017 at the Faculty Conference Hall to share the valuable information and experience about the program with young people in Hue city. The workshop has welcomed representatives from School of Hospitality and Tourism as follows:
- Dam Le Tan Anh – Lecturer, Member of the Executive Board, Youth Union of School of Hospitality and Tourism; and
- Hoang Thi Hue – Lecturer, Member of the Executive Board, Youth Union of School of Hospitality and Tourism.
Two former participants of SSEAYP, Mr Vo Minh Hien and Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Duyen also joined the workshop, along with more than 50 students of Hue University.
The workshop started off with a very exciting performance by the Hatec English Club of School of Hospitality and Tourism, followed by an information session about the Ship of Southeast Asian Youth Program. The program offers a great opportunity for young people to learn and experience different cultures all over the region, open their international outlook, improve their practical skills of international cooperation. The workshop also introduce the participant selecting criteria and process, application forms and other valuable information about the program.
The Questions and Answers session has drawn attention of many enthusiastic students. A number of interesting questions about the program has been raised and answered.
The workshop is concluded with some small gifts for students from SSEAYP and a photoshoot for all the workshop participants.
